Dear Sir/Madam

Luton Borough Council, in the East of England, has the highest rate of childhood obesity in the region, specifically in ethnic minority communities, and is keen to work with European partners to tackle these issues.

Consequently, Luton Borough Council would like the opportunity to work with organisations planning to apply to the Public Health Programme’s open call for Local community including school-based initiatives to prevent overweight and obesity among children and adolescents.

Please note that Luton Borough Council is not developing an application to the public health programme’s 2012 call for proposals but is seeking to add its experience of tackling childhood obesity amongst ethnic minority communities to an existing pan-European consortium.

I appreciate that the 9^th March deadline for submission of applications is looming but would appreciate it if you could forward this request to potentially interested organisations in your region.
